Gretchen Parlato
Friday 20 May, 8.00pm
Norwich Playhouse
"A star in the wings" The Guardian
A major hit at the London Jazz Festival 2010, Gretchen gives her first major gig outside London at NNF11. Never predictable, she blurs the lines between singer and instrumentalist as she takes a lyric to new places. Her last album delved deep into the heart of classic material by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Duke Ellington and Herbie Hancock. For the Festival, Gretchen revisits past albums and premieres material from her new release, The Lost and Found.

Congratulations on such bold and innovative programming!
Fabulous to be able to hear her live in Norwich, along with such a fab band and the unsurpassable Kendrick Scott on drums - World Class!!
Sadly, such generally little-known artistes as this are simply avoided by an unknowing public, so it is great to have such a unique opportunity to hear such ‘niche’ minority jazz interest music like this live, other than at somewhere like London Jazz Festival.
Clearly no chance of X Factor hopefuls covering her songs on the TV!!!!
Blinding stuff NNF11 - here’s to next year!
Off to listen to Alan Hampton and Kendrick Scott’s albums now on Spotify
